Only ~ 10 of the 100+ A330 operators use 3-3-3. I don't expect it to become popular. I have no reason to doubt this. The A300 + derivatives were always a perfect 8 abreast fuselage (just as the A350 today is a perfect 9). +1 is possible for high efficiency charter and LCC configurations but not acceptable comfort-wise for legacy and premium carriers and we don't see airlines moving to such a layout in the scale that the 787 and 777 experienced over the recent past. The 787 and the 777 are more like 8.5 and 9.5 abreast fuselages that made it compelling for premium carriers to make use of that extra 0.5 seat space for more revenue at the expense of some comfort. Even if we see a slight rise in the proportion of 9 across A330s delivered, that would be probably due to a rise in LCC uptake of the aircraft. I would say it with confidence that legacies like Delta will stick to 8 across.

Was it not already noted in the production list? A rather late press release?

Well they ordered the A330-343E which is a RR variant. I suppose they have now signed the final contract with RR.

The whole thing depends on the width of the alley. A330Regional and narrow alley - OK, but long haul

With the announced production decrease to 6 per month from Q1 2016, the needed orders to fill the production line untill the NEO is online should now be significant reduced
