Some A330 orders are still pending, like a few for Kuwait Airways and another 18 for China.

It is now at XFW facilities, a couple of pictures on today's thread at Aviation Friends Hamburg Forum. (edit)(apparently it was coming to XFW from Bremen) Fabien

Austrianaviation.net says the A330 in Airbus livery is painted like this to celebrate the 1000th delivered A330 and is now flying between airbus factories. Article

Qatar Airways' CEO Al Baker recently said a QR order would be announced at the upcoming Dubai air show, but he refused to disclose the aircraft type or manufacturer. Could it be an A330 order ? On the picture above, the aircraft is already painted in 'air show style', as if it was ready to head to Dubai.

Is there any other of the A330 backlog except, from what I can see, two A333s to Malaysia (+10 options?) and a single A333 to Asiana that will be delivered with P&W engines?

We have a special thread about Air Asia's latest order for 25 A330s, but I think such a large order deserves to be discussed in this thread, as it highlights the A330's competitiveness. Here is a link to Airbus' press release : www.airbus.com/newsevents/news-events-single/detail/airasia-x-orders-25-more-a330-300s/Even though the A330 has an advantage in price and availibility over last generation aircraft, and while fleet commonality also matters, this airframe still has less-than-optimal engines and an Al fuselage and wings. While I fully understand the need for some top up orders, I am surprised that Airbus still achieves such large commitments. The paradox is that Air Asia, a vocal advocate of a A330 NEO version fully justifies Airbus' decision not to launch it ...
