With A320 monthly delivery numbers going up, don't forget that for every 45 new ones 30 odd go for scrap each month aswell. I think it's not that clear-cut. Aircraft are often stored, sometimes used at peak periods only. This is even more true for freighters.

I don't really think HNA will shrink in its aviation business. Don't believe HNA will get into too much trouble myself. A liquidity crisis is pretty serious. Whether they like it or not, they have to sell assets very quickly if they want to stay in business. What is more difficult is to predict what exactly they can sell in the next weeks or months. Most of their assets are said to be real estate (hotels ...), and aviation. HK Airlines might well be for sale now. they just got 3.2B www.reuters.com/article/us-hna-citic/chinas-hna-group-gets-3-2-billion-credit-from-citic-bank-idUSKBN1FT1QJ

The main question is which valuable assets can easily be sold. That's not so easy, in my opinion, when everybody in business knows you are forced to sell, and expects firesale prices. According to the article, HNA Group is focused on selling buildings:

According to the article, HNA Group is focused on selling buildings: Yes, but in their situation you sell what you can, not what you would like to sell. The outcome is unpredictable.

wow.. from an outsider perspective...how can you think about selling swissport...probably it's the aircraft geek in me...but.. that sounds like a relatively safe way to turn over cash..
