Total A320 orders overtake 737's as Max crisis persists 15 November, 2019 SOURCE: FlightGlobal.com BY: David Kaminski-Morrow London Airbus's A320 family appears to have overtaken the Boeing 737 in terms of total orders, in the wake of the 737 Max crisis and strong single-aisle activity from the European airframer...Boeing took its first orders for the 737 in 1965 and delivered the initial aircraft to Lufthansa two years later. Shows how far Boeing has fallen behind with their antiquated narrowbody. However, impressive how at the time of its introduction, it took only two years since the first order to get delivered. Not possible with today's standards though.

More news about the A321 ACF production delays and the possibility of an A321 FAL for TLS. Quote AW - "Referring to Airbus’s own problems with A320neo family delays, Scherer said the Toulouse-based manufacturer is still looking at the possibility of an extra final assembly line (FAL). “We concede a small slip of our delivery dates, in particular on the A321, and especially the new ACF cabin of the A321,” Scherer said. “These delays are a reality; we regret them and we’re working very hard to minimize the effects. The persistent rumor of a new (A321) FAL is a scenario we are looking at, but the decision has not been made at this stage.” Airbus is hoping to put the A320 family production issues behind it within the next two years, he added.
