It looks like AVIC will start fitting out A320s produced at other Airbus FALs ? first in Q2 2021 ! Quote AB press release - "The cooperation with AVIC will enhance Airbus Single Aisle aircraft (A319/A320) fuselage equipping in Tianjin, China. The first delivery of a China-equipped Airbus Single Aisle aircraft (A319/A320) fuselage is scheduled in Q2 of 2021" To relieve some pressure? Wasn't outfitting a bottleneck at some sites?

I don't think it is the "outfitting process" that's the problem, I thinks it been late supply of certain interior parts. If it was a fix for that they would be sending frames to TSN a lot earlier than Q2 2021 !

To relieve some pressure? Wasn't outfitting a bottleneck at some sites? I suspect the pressure Airbus may be trying to relieve is political pressure from China. There have been reports that A350 certification was delayed in a push to have some work on the aircraft moved to China. Airbus may have refused and made another offer. I hope Someone is right and we'll see large orders coming up, though I would expect no more than business as usual.

This a duplicate of my latest post in the 'A321neo' thread. Airbus has inaugurated in Hamburg a new highly automated fuselage structure assembly line. The facility has been especially designed to manufacture longer sections for the A321 ACF. Airbus' release includes hints that Airbus expects this new tool to help put an end to existing A321 production headaches. The following quote from Michael Schoellhorn, Airbus Chief Operating Officer, seems particularly clear, though I may be reading too much in it : "We now need to deliver in line with our commitments made to customers while ensuring overall competitiveness". www.airbus.com/newsroom/press-releases/en/2019/10/airbus-inaugurates-new-a320-structure-assembly-line-in-hamburg.html

They will need to fill the huge A380 FAL site. However hadn't Hamburg been promised to get the A321 as TLS got A330/A340, A380, A350 and the HQ? Would Hamburg then "lead" TLS when building A321XLRs?

Yeah, a few months ago somebody told me that Airbus is planning to use the A380 halls to convert it for the production of A321neo's.

Well, the Air Journal story is dated August 2nd 2019. I'm afraid there is nothing new : it's just a study for now.
