Suspect this sequence could change a lot over the next year or two. Maybe the A380-800 will get up to this level. Geoff Maybe, but I expect both the A350-1000 and 787-10 to surpass it

There may be a flaw when you list orders by sub-type : customers often have conversion rights inside the same 'family', and may remain flexible for a long time. In that case, financial optimization may lead to lopsided numbers (an initial order for a smaller sub-type reduces your down payments). This trick is often used for narrowbodies, it might be used for widebodies as well. Obviously, A358 numbers are presently not inflated, but A359 numbers might be (LH for instance has conversion rights to the -1000). More conversions to 789 from 788 may also happen. The figures I use for sales are deliveries plus unfilled orders/orderbook. Conversions and cancellations will be incorporated as they become official. I agree that not all unfilled orders lead to deliveries, thus total sales for some models could actually go down. Quite possible,in my view, that the 787-9 will overtake the 787-8. Geoff

Been looking at the figures for actual models rather than 'families' and the best sellers ( deliveries plus unfilled orders ) are ; 777-300ER 711 A330-300 646 767-300ER 583 A330-200 577 787-8 498 A350-900 473 747-400 442 777-200ER 422 787-9 391 Suspect this sequence could change a lot over the next year or two. Maybe the A380-800 will get up to this level. Geoff I've been checking on sales figures for the A300/A310, L1011 and DC-10/MD-11 and decided that currently in tenth place in this list is the A380-800 with 259 !! Good news for followers of this forum. Unfortunately there are too many newer models likely to sell well over the next year for it to retain that position for long. Geoff

Spreadsheet updated with end October figures attached. Great month for Airbus but the Dubai Airshow is rumoured to bring massive Boeing orders so expect further changes. The A350-900 has now sold more than the 787-8 !! The A330-200 has now sold more than the 767-300ER. A350-800 reduced by a further 10. Nothing new ( yet !! ) for the A380-800. Geoff

Hopefully the A380-800 can overtake the 777-200ER eventually?
