Are the 787-9 and the A350-900 headed for the top of the list or will they go the way of the 787-8 and have a short period of success before being superseded. Geoff A350-900 and 787-9 are currently positioned in the sweet spot of the wide body market and therefore will most likely stay on top for the next 5 to 10 years.

The 777-300ER will no doubt overtake the A330-300 to reach number one but what will their final totals be ? A330-300 646 delivered 115 unfilled orders Total 761 777-300ER 620 delivered 176 unfilled orders Total 796 The A333 and 77W respective totals are so close that the 'race' is a toss-up - it can go either way. Remember the unexpected A330ceo sales performance in 2015 !.

Remember the unexpected A330ceo sales performance in 2015 !. I've been surprised how well the A330-300 has done with new sales over the past few years, however with the A330-900 coming soon ( ?? ) I don't think it can hold off the 777-300ER, which has a longer 'window of opportunity' before the 777-9 arrives. Irrespective of the outcome of the 'race' the A330-300 has been a huge success for Airbus. Geoff
