NOOOO !!! We gave credit to your idea ( pshhhh silently ) It is fun - guessing what will be in 3 years. We would not remember what we did guess now anyway. ( Well one exception - Fabien will remember for sure - we can bet on it - he will say it was computer - fast checking etc... but we know better ) Well I'll remember too. I'm going to put all the guesses into Google Docs and republish them in 3 years time !! Geoff I will go for 103 A350 deliveries in 2018, or do i have to do them all ? ps update your updated date on the ramp up spreadsheet !

Let's have some more guesses for 2018 widebody deliveries.
A number for the Airbus total and another for the Boeing total.

Based on Airbus and Boeing official figures I award my Widebody Airliner 'Oscars' to ; Best Manufacturer - DeliveriesBoeing 267 frames , an industry record, comfortably beating Airbus with 144, which is their best ever. Best Manufacturer - Net OrdersBoeing 179 beating Airbus with 139. Best Model / Family - DeliveriesAn industry record of 135 for the 787. Best Model / Family - Net OrdersA surprise win for the A330, with 140 as Airbus managed to bridge to the A330-800/900. Best Model / Model Series - DeliveriesThe 777-300ER was back on top with around 79 after losing out last year to the 787-8 which delivered 104 in 2014. The 787-8 was second with 71, A330-300 third with 70 and next year's likely winner, the 787-9 fourth with 64. Best Model / Model /Series - Net OrdersA surprise win for the A330-300 with around 69 as Airbus pushed to sell out the last production slots. Here's to another record year in 2016. Cheers Geoff My summary tables have also been updated ; docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LK3NGr1kFwYC9bk8u52J3X28fTAr3kPttsktJYHt2U8/edit#gid=0

We should not call these awards 'Oscars', they should be properly called 'Geoffs'

January always is a slow start. Year after year. They have been back at work for 2 weeks, I would have hoped for a few more by now though !

Still no update from Airbus but I've updated their delivery information based on other sources which should be accurate. If you look towards the bottom of the 'sheet' you'll see I've been adding more detail on deliveries of individual models ( series ). The A330-200 will soon overtake the 767-300ER in terms of deliveries so the three most successful models will still be in production but all three have a limited life. The 777-300ER will no doubt overtake the A330-300 to reach number one but what will their final totals be ? Which model will challenge them and when ? Are the 787-9 and the A350-900 headed for the top of the list or will they go the way of the 787-8 and have a short period of success before being superseded. Summarising the figures for the leaders and the main contenders ; A330-300 646 delivered 115 unfilled orders Total 761 777-300ER 620 delivered 176 unfilled orders Total 796 A330-200 582 delivered 52 unfilled orders Total 634 A350-900 15 delivered 565 unfilled orders Total 580 787-9 80 delivered 466 unfilled orders Total 546 Geoff
