I think the A350 number is 78 (including MSN 132, which did not fly away yet).

A good year for widebody deliveries but not a record year overall.
The 787-9 set a new record for a single model ( 110 ) and Airbus had their best ever year with 160 in total. The A350-900 ( 78 ) had the best annual total for any Airbus widebody model.
2018 should bring ;
An industry increase but not a record year overall
777 overtaking the 747 for total family deliveries
Another record year for the 787-9
Record years for Airbus overall and the A350-900
Airbus narrowing but not closing, the gap with Boeing for overall widebody deliveries
Challenging years for the A330 and the 777 with declines in deliveries likely

Unless it was part of Airbus' presentation (I did not find the time to watch the media event extensively yet), you may have been the first to point out this double achievement. 2018 should bring ..... Challenging years for the A330 ... With declines in deliveries likely That's far from obvious. Did Bregier or Leahy suggest it ? I don't think less-than-stellar A339/A338 sales should lead to a slower production rate this year. The only way you might be right, in my opinion, is if introduction of the A338/A339 slows down production significantly. Is this likely ?

My thinking is that with the introduction of the A330-900 and the ‘ceo’ orderbook nearly empty, maintaining ‘rate 6’ this year will be difficult. Delivering 67 A330s in 2017 was a good result but this year we may see a lower total.

My thinking is that with the introduction of the A330-900 and the ‘ceo’ orderbook nearly empty, maintaining ‘rate 6’ this year will be difficult. Delivering 67 A330s in 2017 was a good result but this year we may see a lower total. Geoff I do not see any reason for Airbus to cut A330 production in 2018. The backlog is 315 frames. That is a nearly 5 years backlog. That is a normal backlog. It would have been called a good backlog two decades ago before the explosion of aircraft orders. It enables to react to short term delivery new orders. The question is also not only, how big is the backlog, but also, when do my customers want to get their frames. If we do not see orders for the A330 this year and next year, yes than production will be cut drastically down, but than the A330 is dead anyway.

Since this is the widebody thread, let me use the above table to point out that in Q4 2017 Spirit delivered 48 widebody shipsets to Airbus versus 55 to Boeing. Strangely enough, the 767 made the (small) difference with 7 shipsets.
Boeing's full year lead was much larger : 240 versus 183, a difference of 57 shipsets.
