Although few records will be broken, 2018 has been a momentous year for the widebody jetliner market. Three new models have entered service 787-10, A330-900 and A350-1000. The three most successful models in the history of the market are nearing the end of their production life 777-300ER, A330-200 and A330-300. The delivery of new planes has been dominated by the 787-9 and the A350-900 both of which have had record years. Boeing has managed to partly compensate for declining deliveries of passenger models by delivering a record 40 new build freighters. 2019 should see the launch of a new widebody family by Boeing, the eagerly anticipated NMA/797. The much criticised A330-800 should also enter service. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LK3NGr1kFwYC9bk8u52J3X28fTAr3kPttsktJYHt2U8/edit?pli=1Geoff

Now the talk is about Paris 2019. I expect that Airbus to do better in 2019. Reaching 10 a month for the A350 for the whole year and increasing A330 deliveries again to perhaps 6 a month. Boeing will be able to increase 787 deliveries, but 777 deliveries will slump further. Overall wide body deliveries at Boeing will IMO stay the same.

We don’t get final yearly totals until mid-January but we know enough to give a provisional update on the industry and manufacturer annual delivery records.
Boeing - all of which are also industry records
Most widebodies. 267 in 2015
Most for a family. 787 140* in 2018
Most for a model. 787-9 120* in 2018
Airbus
Most widebodies. 160 in 2017
Most for a family A330 108 in 2013 and 2014
Most for a model. A350-900 80* in 2018
*estimate

Has Boeing committed to an increase in 787 production beyond 12/month ? Will this be in 2019 ? With 777-300ER production drying up their 2019 deliveries with depend on the 787 and freighters. As far as passenger frames are concerned I expect a further ( small ) decline in 2019. Geoff

No sign yet of 787 ramp up in the Spirit figures If I remember correctly, the 14 per month rate is to be reached at some point in 2019.

Thought for 2019 ....
Airbus to deliver more Passenger Widebodies than Boeing ?
If you exclude the 50 or so freighters that Boeing should deliver, the figures could be something like this ;
787 160 777 10
Boeing total 170
A330 45 A350 115 A380 10
Airbus total 170
Something to monitor as the year progresses.

50 freighters sound quite optimistic in regards to Boeing deliveries.
On the other side I expect 12 A380, 3 for ANA and 9 for Emirates. I expect more A330, if RR can supply engines. Airbus has quite a few undelivered A330ceo and is late with A330neo deliveries. 115 A350 could be right.
