A second year of deliveries severely impacted by the coronavirus and other technical factors. In those two years we have seen the three most successful ( in terms of deliveries ) passenger widebodies end production. The A330-200 ( except for military conversion ) , A330-300 and the 777-300ER. We have also seen the end ( permanent ? ) of production of four-engined models. The dominance of the 787 and the A350 looks guaranteed for many years to come. Geoff B747-8 production is still limping on just ! |

I’m wondering what 2022 will look like for passenger widebody deliveries.
Will we see progress towards a return to 2019 numbers ?
When will 787 deliveries resume and the 787-9 move ahead of the 767-300ER and the A330-200 in total deliveries ?
Can Airbus clinch enough A350 sales to halt the decline in the unfilled orderbook ?

March figures now published. Airbus passenger widebody deliveries were again 8 in the month with 4 x A350-900 , 2 x A350-1000 and 2 x A330-900 but still nothing from Boeing this year. Year to date model totals are : A350-900 13 A330-900 4 A350-1000 3 Note that Airbus have reduced their 2021 total of A350-900s deliveries by two in respect of 2 Aeroflot frames blocked by sanctions. April figures now published. Airbus passenger widebody deliveries were 7 in the month with 3 x A350-900 , 2 x A350-1000 and 1 x A330-900 and 1 A330-300. Boeing delivered 3 x 777-300ER their first passenger widebody deliveries this year. Year to date model totals are : A350-900 16 A330-900 5 A350-1000 5 777-300ER 3 A330-300. 1 Note that Airbus have reduced their 2021 total of A350-900s deliveries by two in respect of 2 Aeroflot frames blocked by sanctions.
