Very steady piece of camerawork there. It looked like the 767 was making a vertical landing.

... Though we don't know the lead time from shipset delivery by Spirit to aircraft delivery by Boeing. The reduced pace might show in Q2.

Qantas: On December 27, we said goodbye to the final 767 in the Qantas fleet. The 767 has been in the Qantas fleet since July 1985 and has carried nearly 168 million passengers on over 927,000 flights. Thank you to two of our 767 First Officers for filming on the final flight.

It's a busy weekend in Cardiff, after yesterday's BA 747 swap over, and the Red Arrows being based there this weekend now G-BNWA BA B767 is going in, this will probably be bad news Its 26+ years old, is configured for short haul flights ! So lots of cycles. I think this one will end up in the desert after stripping in Cardiff? I will keep you informed

I just wonder if the 767 from now and the one 25 years old differ a lot as is with AB. Is the engine very much "PIPed" ?
I do believe that while preparing the tanker with significant cost they did introduced a lot of improvements. Will some of those be introduced to the freighters as well. On the end it might be even cheaper to introduce those since the line will be changed....
Anyway very good news for BO - nobody knows how many of the tankers will be finally sold but still the long time ago paid for line might have to speed up on current around 1/month rate.

Using the wrong chemical is a really a stupid mistake. Is Boeing having bad luck with this tanker programme ? You are right, but you can add bad management, bad design of the electrical system for a military plane which requires three independent systems which they did not install correctly on the first 3 prototypes and then had to rewire ! then an airborne fire ! the USAF should have stuck with their original choice for the aircraft, the A330 MRRT They would probably have some in service by now
