Hi all I've been away for a long long while but I was a member on the old server /site ,and only recently found the site again. Long story but I've found the site again .
I kind of have a strange request if anyone on the site has access to EDHI from the inside . I'm looking for a bit of a favour if you are allowed to take photographs. One of my hobbies is using flightsims and EDHI has a very poor stock airport of EDHI,so I thought I would try my hand at updating it. The tools for doing this are readily available, Although this is quite a steep learning curve for me I have plenty of time to play around.
The ground work is fairly straight forward as there are plenty of high detail sat images of the airport My main problem is the buildings I want to create 3d models of them but I can't find any pictures of them square on so I can then create texture maps to put on the models. So my favour is if anyone has legal access to the airport that could maybe take some pictures of the buildings face on for me so that I can try making the models, that would be great. Also any of the buildings that you think would maybe enhance the airport, from a simulator point of view eg ground run pens, open air covers etc

Hey mazelda , these aerial images will definitely help you: luftbild.fotograf.de/album/finkenwerder-1btw...I created a version of EDHI for Flight Simulation but only changed they taxiways and parking spots. That was 2 years ago though and barely works with P3D ha! Let me know when you are done your project, sounds interesting  |

Get your hands on a Mac and the maps.app! You can view any building at any angle in 3D - perfect for your imagination! Just an example, the A380 delivery center which noone saw live: Overview  3D view max  close up (rendering has some faults, of course)  You really don't need anybody because you can move freely everywhere. |

Many thanks guys I thought that might be the case I should be able to find enough images with the links you have provided to make something mtrunz Happy to let you know how its going, but don't hold your breath although I have an understanding of ADE I have very little use of SbuilderX and 3dsmax so it may take a while.  Linie 9 My son has a mac I will have to have a look at that and the models especially. Is the maps app free or do they charge for it ? Do you know if it would work on an Ipad ? The app is free, pre-installed and runs on Macs, iPhone and iPads.
