Most of the span increase comes from the new winglets 'Most of' is hyperbole, in my opinion. Taking off an existing wing-tip to replace it with a different one is far from providing a two meters extension per wing on an aircraft this size. By replacing the existing A330/340 classical winglets, with similar to those on the A350, which is somewhat between a winglet and raked wingtips, that adds some meters From Leeham leehamnews.com/2014/07/14/airbus-a330-800-and-900neo-first-analysis/

So, half of the extension (2m) comes from the change of winglets, the other half is additional. Also, the whole wing-tip seems to be made of one part only, most probably to be mounted in TLS after wing transport.

The new winglet is the span extension. The wing extension (about 2 meters) is way more than just the substitution of a new winglet to the previous one (one meter, as shown in someone's post above). With a 4 meters span increase (2 x 2 meters) Airbus also intended to improve the wing aspect ratio.

With a 4 meters span increase (2 x 2 meters) Airbus also intended to improve the wing aspect ratio. It depends on the definition on where the winglet begin. AS illustrated the drawings in Leeham, the wing up to the the [current] winglet are attached is the same. So it fits in the Beluga the same way as the CEO wing. Then the new winglet is attached and it start in a much more horizintal way and is flat in the beginning before start bending upwards after about 1m. You could argue that the first meter is wing and not winglet, but it is anyway part of the structure mounted together with the winglet

Anyhow, the wing-tip is part of the wing. What matters is the span, wing area and aspect ratio.
