MSN 1819 (TAP Portugal) has entered final assembly. Is it possible that MSN1819 will be also used for the Test and Certification?

Thanks ghorn, MSN1795 and MSN1813 are for Airbus until a customer will take over the planes. I mean additional to MSN1795 and MSN1813.

I do not think that MSN 1819 for TP is thought to be used for testing. Airbus is simply that confident, that changes resulting from testing and certification will be that minor, that building customer frames now, to be ready right after certification, is justified.

Interesting note about Hawaiian's A330neo order from Leeham despite the article earlier saying pre-production of the A338 is underway. Unless Airbus is thinking of cancelling the -800 or there are performance issues with the A330neo (whether it be with the -800 or if Hawaiian wants a larger aircraft with more range) I can't see why HA would go away from the A330neo. I guess we'll have to wait and see if anything eventuates out of this rumour. leehamnews.com/2017/07/27/mid-year-production-update-airbus/

I posted my opinion in the 'AA A350' thread, but I duplicate it since the discussion belongs here.
Leeham says AA's interest is in the A338, which would be very good news for this sub-type. "American Airlines appears more interested in the -800 than the -900 as replacements for the Boeing 767-300ER. Boeing is offering its own solution. AA selecting the A330-800 would be a way out of the A350-900. Pre-production on the A330-800 is underway".
Leeham however also writes "Hawaiian has cancellation rights for the -800 and is said to have launched a competition between the Boeing 787 and the Airbus A350-900".
AA taking the A338 to replace its 767 would not bode well for Boeing' proposed NMA/797, but it would be a strange turn of fortune for the so far unsuccessful A338. On the opposite, HA has consistenly refused to upgrade its previous A358 order to the A359, which they deemed too large, and I don't see them taking it, unless of course their views have changed. Would they go Boeing with an almost as large 789 ?
I have serious doubts on all this.

More optimism: A338 would be nice replacement for the 763 - it operates considerably cheaper, takes more load, has bigger floor space and better cargo capability, would be for sure considerably cheaper than any 787 model. So why not ? IT would be nice boost and important to such a customer as AA - it uses well proven technology and no big surprises should be on the way. But..... as always we will see.
