sorry for possibly being off topic, but does anybody know what will Airbus do with MSN 1 through 4 once the test campaign is over? 1 and 3 will probably be kept and 2 and 4 will probably go to customers. I would guess 2 to Singapore And 4 to Qatar?

They did say about 5-7months ago that also they would eventually sell off msn3 but that it would need lots of work on it to make it ready for a customer. So that means they will only keep msn1.

I thought it would be better if Airbus kept two test aircraft for a type like they have for the A380. They can test different things, improvements etc. in parallel. Could it be that they will retain one A350-900 and one A350-1000 in their future test fleet? At present too, the have two A340s, one -300 and one -600.

One significant different between the A350 and A380: One vs two engine providers. Thus I don't see the need for keeping two test aircrafts. Boeing sold of all their 777 test aircrafts without that causing any trouble

Thus I don't see the need for keeping two test aircrafts. May well be true in the case of the two -900s. But what about the -1000? The engines may be only slightly different but I think it warrants its own dedicated test bed as it is a fair bit differentiated from the -900 like the A346 vs. the A343, and it's the only model that is going to compete with the 777X.

Bit off topic, but is it decided that the A380 frames MSN001 and MSN004 will both indefinitely stay with Airbus? According to the German Wikipedia page, MSN004 should eventually go to Emirates, although no source for that info is mentioned. So I'm not sure how trustworthy that is...

Qatar in talks to order more A350s. Great news ! I hope it's for real, not just to put more pressure on the 779 negociation with Boeing ...

Or 787-9s.....which earlier QR has been rumoured to be "in talk" with Boeing about. Except the 747 and 767, QR seems to be constantly rumoured to be negotiating for all types of widebody aircrafts out there
