The final assembly line is running at 5 jets per month since early 2016, all those birds are queuing up and will have to be delivered at some point...

I guess we will see maybe 3 deliveries a month in may and june? and july august will be very calm I do believe your estimate for May and onwards is to low. May-Aug will probably see more like 5 or more deliveries, not 3 If you see the reason behind the delays, I'm not too worried that they will not be able to reach the planned deliveries, although it is a strechted target. To list some of the deliveries Cathay Aircraft: Here it is basically a seat certification issue, it will mainly affect the deliveries of the first aircraft, and it should be able to catch up the delivery plan be the end of the year Misc interior pieces from Zodiac (or other): This is a type of delay that is should be able to catch up be the end of the year Rework: This is a more challenging issue. Rework on existing aircraft on the flightline or far out in the production process at this stage should not affect 2015 overall number, although it will mean more deliveries are moved to later in the year. However, Airbus must be able to reduce the necessary rework or other similar work on those aircraft currently in the beginning of the FAL or not yet in FAL, in order for planned Q4 deliveries not to slide into 2017. This is the major risk IMHO for Airbus not to reach its target of 50, but it is not an impossible task, and I do believe Airbus have this under control. Then of course there is some "shaky orders" like no one really knows what SriLankan will end up doing And to add, there is a great timing lag from when Airbus reached a FAL loading of 5 per month vs when the output (i.e. ready for delivery) will reached 5 per month

Regarding the 'rework', the work in the tents at the A380 site is currently planned to end in Q3 this year. After that, cabins will be installed during final assembly in Station 30.

It is hard to imagine Airbus churning out A350's at the same rate Boeing churns out 787's! Now over 400 787 delivered. A350 production rate should reach 10 per month in Jan 2018, just 2 per month short of B787 current production rate !

Reading through the quarterly results of zodiac there is positive and negative news
- the positive seems to me that they have the production rate of the lavatories/toilets under control. The report mentions the opening of a second assembly line for those in canada. The shipment rate augmented from 2,5 per month to 7 per month in march. Target seems to be 8. All these numbers are shipsets, not toilets ;-) - as for the seats, I think there is positive and negative news. The positive news seems that the problem is not now anymore the production capacity but the quality and certification of a few business seat programs. The negative news is that there are certification problems and quality problems on these business seats. The presentation also says that tests have been conducted recently and that they can now proceed to the certification stage.
So it looks like a mixed bag : - lavatories seems more or less resolved - some business class programs seem ok - a few business class programs are in problems : quality and certification not ok
Above all : no news about when everything will be resolved...
Your ideas?

Nice post!! Good to see the toilet issue being resolved, since all A350s use Zodiac toilets, it'll allow the A350s without Zodiac seats to be delivered on time. I think of the current operators, only Finnair is using Zodiac business seats although I'm not too sure about who makes SQ or JJ's business seats. As Sciing has said, CX will have Zodiac seats and it has been reported that they've been delayed and facing certification issues.
