From the information we have it looks like May was not a very good month for frames entering FAL ? There seem to have been only 3 or possibly 4 frames that entered S50. There should have been at least 5 (the Jan 2016 rate) and possibly closer to 6 (the June 2016 rate) going into FAL ?

Maybe, but it is strange, because the next -1000 will be MSN 88. So it's not sure.

There should have been at least 5 (the Jan 2016 rate) and possibly closer to 6 (the June 2016 rate) going into FAL ? The 5th missing A350 would be MSN 63. Summer vacation is coming up and will see a reduced production rate during this period. Rate 6 would be for Q4 this year. Maybe, but it is strange, because the next -1000 will be MSN 88. So it's not sure. The current production rate of 5 jets per month does not require three Station 50 positions. Those three stations are only required to support a production rate of 10 jets per month, a rate that will not be reached until 2018. So I guess Airbus will reserve the addition S50/40/30 stations for the first A350-1000 customer frame. This way assembly of the A350-1000 cannot interfere with the production of the -900 in case issues are found. And MSN 88 might be ahead of production sequence (like MSN 59 was), perhaps it will be used for route proving flights.

Thank you for your detailed post, but I have doubts about the following assertion. Summer vacation is coming up and will see a reduced production rate during this period. Rate 6 would be for Q4 this year. I think it's excessive to say that we'll see a reduced production during the summer. The FAL is stopping for no more than two weeks in August. The rest of the summer, I believe production is as usual, though Airbus may be making some adjustments. I don't know whether there are fewer entries ahead of that period. If so, why did Airbus plan a rate increase on June 30th ?

We know we are missing 1 QR frame but it still should have been more ?

maybe they are doing some modifications to the assembly stations before the rate increase?
