Word is on the street that AirAsia will take the Skymark A330's.

The A330s belong to a lessor. Air Asia would certainly be welcome to lease them, if the company needs a quick capacity increase.

not all of them to my knowledge. the first couple I believe were direct purchase

I doubt AirAsia will take all - they came to conclusion their growth on AA-X was too big...as published here several time.
I do believe that "IF" it will be different scenario.

Which represents 25% of AirAsia X (whole family) fleet.....

Air Asia's interest is to establish an active subsidiary in Japan. Fleet is just one of the issues they have to review while trying to build a business plan.
