I believe the registration "JA330C" was taken by someone else.

That's the one! Shame that the sequence is disrupted by that... thing! And if Skymark actually survives and continues to build a fleet of 10 A330s, it will happen again, as JA330J is assigned to a JAL Express Boeing 737!!

This is Skymark's information page about the WiFi service: www.skymark.co.jp/ja/information/free_wifi.htmlIt says that starting on 7 August (tommorrow!) free WiFi service is available on flights operated with JA330D, which is the one that was delivered last week. The other A330s are supposed to be retrofitted with WiFi "before the end of the year".

Rumors about Skymark's restructuring after the A380 fiasco: - Since international A380 flights out of Narita are no longer in the game, they will probably pull out of NRT completely. - New plans for introducing international scheduled operations are about using their A330s on routs out of Haneda to destinations such as Singapore, Thailand, or Hawaii. - To alleviate the increasing financial pressure, Skymark might jump into bed with Tony Fernandes... Thank you, henge, for this update.
So, if we believe this seemingly well-informed press story, the AirAsia group could be the partner Airbus was pushing Skymark to tie-up with. It would indeed not be surprising at all that Airbus called Fernandes for help to sort out the Skymark issue. This would explain why they were so uncompromising in their interaction with Skymark ...
I expect thrilling developments as this story unfolds in the forthcoming months ...

Well I wonder if one can imagine A380 in AirAsia colors ? I would love to see that! I quite like the Air Asia X livery. It reminds me of a type of Koi (Kohaku). Would be a nice theme for a Japanese carrier.
