Getting used to the new GTF's size so much that the V2500s on the A321 are starting look like what the JT8Ds were to the 737-100/200.

Getting used to the new GTF's size so much that the V2500s on the A321 are starting look like what the JT8Ds were to the 737-100/200. Few generation into the future we might finish with the engines somewhere "above" - there is going to be no space for bellow the wings

No info on the breakdown between the models other than the order includes A319neo, A320neo and A321neo A lot of deals these days seem to have flexibility built into them and types are swapped around often.

A lot of deals these days seem to have flexibility built into them and types are swapped around often. Probably this is a consequence of huge backlogs, deliveries starting several years after the order and contract execution sometimes spanning more than a decade. As changes are bound to occur in so many years, the airframer must offer flexibility, and airlines nowadays selects a family of aircraft from which they will build their fleet, with no idea of the eventual sub-type mix.
