Aeroflot is also reviewing its order for 22 Airbus A350s, but Callegari rules out any possibility of these being cancelled. Instead, he says, the on-order mix of eight A350-800s and 14 A350-900s is "something that we are looking at". The delivery dates for the A350 order are also "part of the discussions". But while the airline "does have a date in mind... we are not disclosing it", adds Callegari. And for sure part of the deal will be conversion of 358 to something else and Airbus will be happy.

It almost sounds as if Aeroflot is pissed off at Boeing about something for them to announce the cancellation right in the middle of the Paris Air Show when media attention is highest. And it also says that they've been talking about the cancellation for a long time with the related stakeholders, so like I said before, Boeing would have been perfectly aware of the open slots for some time.

I more inclined to believe they will cancel the A350-800 order, but keep the A350-900 order It all depends on their needs and financial means. Perhaps the reason the A358s are still in the order book is that they don't know whether they should convert the order or cancel it altogether.

They will not cancel it - they paid some money so there is going to be some deal around it. I believe convert it to something else - it might be even 321neo ...... and postponed.....

Well, as Airbus is not building the A358, I don't see how they could keep customer money ... The issue is different : unless there is a settlement, the customer is entitled to compensation.
