China Airlines today (12JAN16) outlined initial Airbus A350-900XWB operation, currently scheduled to enter revenue service on 01AUG16. Initially the Skyteam member plans to operate the A350 aircraft on Taipei Taoyuan – Hong Kong route twice a day, further increase to 4 daily by 01OCT16.

But knowing my luck the service will start on the 1st of October.

Skyteam member China Airlines today (22MAR16) has adjusted its operation for Rome, as it opens reservation for Airbus A350-900XWB operating service. From 03DEC16, CI will operate Taipei Taoyuan – Rome on nonstop basis twice a week, replacing existing 1-stop service via Delhi.

Reservation for Delhi – Rome sector has been closed since mid-March 2016.

China Airlines in last Friday’s (01APR16) schedule update has adjusted planned operation for Taipei Taoyuan – Vienna route, effective 03DEC16. The 3 weekly service will be served by Airbus A350-900XWB aircraft, instead of A340-300.

CAPA is reporting that the airline may start London return by the end of the year with the A350

China Airlines plans to resume Taipei-London service with the A350 by the end of 2016. The swift interest and compressed timescale may reflect the airline's new government-appointed chairman wanting to refocus the airline.

China Airlines will resume Taipei-London service by the end of 2016, chairman Ho Nuan-hsuan told the Taiwanese media in Sep-2016. Dates have not been fixed and the service is not on sale. If China Airlines intends to launch the service by the end of 2016 it will not have adequate time to start sales.

China Airlines did say that it intends to resume service with the A350-900, the first of which China Airlines is eagerly waiting after a summer of delays. At the time of its exit from London China Airlines flagged that it could return to London with the A350 in a few years, but the plan had not been raised until recently. China Airlines' initial A350 deployment plans did not include London.
