I think it is just an additional frame since the wording states "the placement of one Airbus A350-900"

Can someone explain please why this delivery would be so long away? I presume that the airline was planning for long haul for a good while so if three frames become available and Sichuan want them but not before 2019, why haven't Airbus offered these currently available frames to another airline or is it simply because their layout had largely been completed and they needed a willing purchaser? This one for 2019 delivery is from a different leasing firm not Aercap

I think it is just an additional frame since the wording states "the placement of one Airbus A350-900" It's a single A350 from ALC. The other aircraft Sichuan leases from ALC are single-aisle and A330 aircraft.

And we know when will be first a350 delivery to Sichuan : www.ch-aviation.com/portal/news/56934-chinas-sichuan-airlines-to-add-maiden-a350-in-4q17" Sichuan Airlines (3U, Chengdu) will take delivery of its maiden A350-900 during the fourth quarter of this year, Chinese media have reported. In September last year, the China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou) unit agreed to lease A350s from AerCap and one from Air Lease Corporation with deliveries to begin this year. As it stands, the first of the quartet will deliver in October this year, according to the Sichuan Daily newspaper. The source of the aircraft was not disclosed. Sichuan Airlines currently uses six A330-200s and four A330-300s to operate longhaul routes to New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the United States, Czechia, Russia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)."

As MSN 60 has been repainted in a special Sichuan livery, I guess MSN 60 will be the single A350 delivered to the airline in Q4.

Probably reason why 3 chinese airlines can't take any a350 deliveries is certification:
