Hainan Airline to get one A350 in 2017 !!! Which MSN would that be ? Flight Global - "Hainan Airlines is expecting to induct 96 aircraft into its fleet during 2017. These comprise of 41 Boeing 737-800s, one 737-700, 21 Embraer 190s, 16 Airbus A320s, nine 787-9s, four A330-200s, three A330-300s and a single A350. The information was disclosed in a stock exchange statement." These are the new aircraft plan for HNA group. I'd say most likely HX will get the A350.

Interesting words from article above by Didier Evrard: "We will pick up the next wave of replacement." In my opinion these words means that Airbus may not scrap a350-800 version and waits for A330-200 replacement in fleet airlines.

In my opinion these words means that Airbus may not scrap a350-800 version and waits for A330-200 replacement in fleet airlines. Indeed, this quote provides a lot of feed for discussion. At first sight, Evrard could mean that the 'A350-2000' project (a larger family member) has now been put on the back burner for lack of market demand, which would not be surprising in present market conditions. Yet, as you point out, these words could also be a hint at a future improved A358, which could be launched if/when A330neo sales begin to dry out.
