they claimed they found solution ? That was not difficult, just roll back the change. I guess some people mix up the thinks and are confused. This change was not a fix for the older issues (at least I see no hint it was). It was just an usual improvement (like 16 others), one which seems to have unexpected issue.

More information is coming from P&W. www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/air-transport/2018-02-21/pratt-whitney-resumes-gtf-production- A clarification on the resumption of deliveries : engine production has resumed, deliveries to Airbus are to begin in early March, and installation on A320neo aircraft in April. - 2018 production goals confirmed : from 374 engines in 2017 to 750/760 this year, doubling production (I suppose this is a total for all GTF variants). - as each doubling of the GTF engine production rate results in a 13 percent production-cost reduction per engine, P&W expects a 13% drop in production costs this year.

All pretends to looks very optimistic - so let's hope, no more major obstacles to follow.....

Also from the link provided by bmw801 :
"The Leap problem, related to flaking of the coating on a shroud in the engine's hot section, represents a long-term durability issue."
Durability being the only problem explains why the fix can be implemented during scheduled maintenance.
Like P&W, CFM seems to have met a problem with a trivial part, not a highly sophisticated one. Fortunately, the issue should be forgotten soon.

The DGCA’s directive is quite bad for IndiGo & Go Air. With all new engines (incl. spares) no longer airworthy, even if it’s a combination of new engine & old engine (I.e. worse than EASA’s emergency directive), that would mean if there is any breakdown of existing old engines, more and more A320neo would need to be removed from the operation. Even if PW going to compensate they will still losing their market shares to competitors. They must be very pissed off on PW now.

The DGCA’s directive is quite bad for IndiGo & Go Air. Don't make it sound worse than it is. Few engines are concerned.
