I did not believe the Airbus PR, but the same news from FG makes me confident. What you call 'Airbus PR' is an official filing with market authorities. You cannot get a more official source. Flightglobal and other media are just quoting it.

Now that we know that Airbus reached its goal (800), and that Boeing didn't (806 delivered vs a target of 815), the remaining question is whether Airbus actually exceeded its target and delivered more aircraft than Boeing last year. If Boeing actually kept the lead, it was by no more than six units ...
I already asked that same question on December 2nd in a post in the 'Boeing 2018 deliveries' thread, in which I claimed that the race was too close to call. At that time, no other member considered the question seriously.

So... I decided to listen to you guys suggestions/feedback and took the 2018 Delivery Spreadsheet (up to November off course) and went line by line for all Deliveries of the year and added a new Flight Activity in each of the Aircraft Profiles called "Delivered on Contract". This also is taken into consideration in the Statistic section (i.e. If an aircraft has been Delivered on Contract in August but the Delivery Flight has happened in September, than it counts as Delivered in August). The biggest challenges I had was with Chengdu Airlines, Spirit Airlines (for the 2nd half of the year) and Avianca Brazil (for the first half of the year). Maybe if anybody has time they can help decipher what the Airbus spreadsheet is saying compared to actual Delivery Flights for those 3 airlines? I know for sure I'm missing something somewhere. We'll wait until the December sheet is out so that I can figure out how to get it almost exactly like the official values Also, where can I find the 2017, 2016 and 2015 Airbus Spreadsheets? Thank you! I think I have a copy of the 2016 and 2017 in my work PC. I will check tomorrow

i am intrigued where those 10 frames came from. or the 790 was unofficial and based on what outsiders calculated??? i am always fascinated by the roller coaster share prices..like building an airplane is an overnight thing..that's another discussion anyhow...

One optimistic speculation could be that the 790 did not include the A220s. If that was true, then Airbus' yearly total would be 808 - The lucky number giving them the leading position ...

Can I ask, seriously, what is the real significance of making what was possibly a best-informed guess of a figure defined a year before on the operational and financial future of Airbus? Isn't a plane or two either way or whether they have bragging rights over Boeing really something to become excited about in the overall scheme of things or is it that a group of people who think it's important, and have media access, want to make a deal about this for possible gain?

Isn't a plane or two either way or whether they have bragging rights over Boeing really something to become excited about in the overall scheme of things ? Well, of course, you may care or not, it's not financially significant, it's all about symbols. Let me ask you some other questions : what's the point of reading everyday MSNs, registration numbers, hexcodes ? Is a delivery date important ? Is a small difference in fuel burn a vital datum ? What's the point of taking a picture of an A320 ? When you care about the above, you are just expressing passion. We are enthusiasts, that's the reason we are members of this forum !

Some contractual deliveries but not flown out: - 2 A330neo for TAP - 3 A350 for Honk Kong - 6 A330 for Hainan - 2nd A220 for Tanzania The A320 looks quite normal in a 1st view. Only a few not flown out yet.
