Starting a new thread for new discussions. We'll see how to rename the thread title later on, if necessary.

Obviously, when a person speaks, different listeners don't understand the same. The above links about AAB's remarks on the A380 are almost contradictory ...

I suspect that Airbus are pushing the airlines with outstanding orders to clarify their position regarding the orders so they have a clear picture of the program. I suspect this then triggers discussions about (none refundable??) deposits that the airline may have given Airbus.
who else has outstanding orders?

It's a painful process but they need it to come clean before the group's annual report next week.

I guess the next orders to disappear from the book is Amedeo with 20 frames and Air Accord with 3. We knew both of them are not worth the paper they written on, should be get ride of asap.
Looking through the list of airlines with options in hand, I still think Airbus should and will do a deal with BA/IAG to convert the 7 options to 6/7 firm orders, to fill in the production gap while producing the remaining EK orders.
EY has 5 options, QR has 3 and SQ has 1. Will they convert them to a top up order? As long as the production line is still open and taking order, these remain possible.

It's a painful process but they need it to come clean before the group's annual report next week. Indeed, Airbus have kept unsecured orders and options way too long in their books. At Farnborough last year Eric Schulz was grilled about this by Reuters, but Schulz said Airbus would decide when the time was appropriate. Since they have cleared the books from the Virgin and Hong Kong Airlines orders. Next: Accord and Amedeo.
