It will be interesting to see what Airbus does with all that extra manufacturing capacity?

On this day a few media contacted me at A380fanclub. Belgian newspaper De Standaard asked some questions by mail, Dutch network RTL wants to do an interview on Friday near Schiphol, The Guardian left a message I saw too late. Here is a story in Suddeutsche Zeitung from Munich/Germany, only in German, after I gave a telephone interview this morning: www.sueddeutsche.de/wirtschaft/airbus-a-fanclub-trauer-1.4330046

It depends how expensive parts and engine maintenance will become. This might very much depend on how the huge number of emirates used birds gets marketed and if they continue to be used.
Manufacturers will be tempted to offer huge discounts to anybody switching away from the A380 to their latest twins. This will include Airbus...

There are some missing connections in your argumentation just to even understand what your point is! Maintance cost? —> EK use? —> Discounts? I do not understand your argumentation chain and what you want to say.

If enough airplanes are used, parts and maintenance will be needed for many planes and be cheap. If not enough airplanes are used these costs go up. Up to the point were even somebody intending to use his A380 longer (like 20 more years) will prefer to change his type of aircraft. And we can expect Airbus and Boeing to try to sell their latest and greatest to all remaining A380 operators with special offers and such, letting their remaining active A380 fleet shrink early.
Hopefully this was more clear.
