Boeing has to take part of the responsibility in some way or risk jeopardising their customer relationships. They should probably give discounts on future purchases to account for this. Boeing will stick to current industry practice. Apart possibly from aircraft under warranty (I don't know its exact terms), the owners will have to take care of the modifications.

Sigh. I think KLM had to orders more new aircraft. They didn't orders 737-MAX or A320neo yet. They haven't decide yet!
