I once read they are the same diameter as a 737-fuselage. Think it was written in the Holland Herald, KLM's inflight magazine, at the time the 777 was introduced in KLM's fleet. Pretty much. The fuselage cross sections are ovoid however. MD-80 - 3.36m x 3.61m 737 - 3.76m x 4.01m Width of a GE90-115B is 3.96m Are we talking internal or external? (size does matter....sometimes!)  |

Wowah! Oh wait, were you talking about the engine fan? The maximum width of the engine in its housing is 3.96m. The fan diameter is 3.25m. |

Is the GE90-115B bigger or is it just a thrust increase?

Is the GE90-115B bigger or is it just a thrust increase? -115Bs are slightly bigger in size. GE90-94 - 134 inches overall, 123 inches fan diameter GE90-115B - 135 inches overall, 128 inches fan diameter |

The -115B is bigger
-85B has a 3.1 m diameter fan whereas -115B has a 3.25 m diameter fan.
