Well, despite those comments made to the public, I don't think any aircraft manufacture will be so complacent. I'm sure internally they're weighing their options for their next move. They have time to decide on it.

HL7742 (c/n 29171 / 553). Only the second 777 to crash-land since introduction, this time with possibly two fatalities A sad occurance but at the same time a very impressive safety record.

Firstly condolences to the 2 teenage girls that lost their lives. The latest NTSB reports says that the aircraft was significantly below their approach speeds of 137 KTS. 7 seconds before impact, a crew member told the PIC to increase speed.
