I have no idea about KE, and I am not sure we should rule out any top-up order from them. Forget KE - they have total cumulated LOSS well over 1 bil.USD !!!!! I thought they decided to park their A380 at Roswell, NM because not economy enough for them newsinflight.com/2017/12/27/11201/

It would not be surprising - considering the way their business goes....

If there is any limit, then expect it to apply to whatever routes CZ could efficiently use an A380 on. As regards the ex-HK Airlines order, now transferred to an undisclosed customer, I find it particularly shaky. The Chinese order was with CASC, never belong to HK Airlines. HNA did show interest on them, but never be a done deal.
With the current huge cash flow problem within HNA Group, it won't be possible for HNA to pick up this order.
We've seen this many times already, if Chinese promise an order, it will materialised eventually.

That might be problems of the whole group including shipping. KE have some great onboard product. The best business class I am aware of. Especially onboard their A380s and 747-8.

Forget KE - they have total cumulated LOSS well over 1 bil.USD !!!!! Fleet decisions are long-term commitments. You cannot predict aircraft orders from the latest financial results alone, unless the airline is on the verge of bankruptcy, which I don't think is the case. What matters is how a given aircraft type performs in the company network, and whether it matches demand trends. I have no idea of how KE assesses its A380 operation, or of its predicted future demand. I'll remain neutral until they speak out.

Philidor I still do believe - forget KE - they are selling what ever is "possible to sell". They are not going to buy any A380 !
