Production is going to 50 per month in 2017, that should have created additional slots.

Airbus certainly does not want to say that these ceo orders are a buffer in case the neo ramp-up is slower than planned, but I think some customers may have signed a ceo-with-possible-neo-conversion contract.

Well, despite what they say, Airbus's relationship with GE is definitely taking a turn for the worse and now this seems to be extending into CFM as well. McNerney must really have some good friends in high places at his former company . Fortunately, Airbus has Pratt and Rolls to back them well.

Yeah.... it is probably not too good for the customers - as was said on the meeting in Phoenix short time ago - but it is logical. There are of course not un-significant expenses to have two types of the engine on the plane and everybody tries to economize.
On the other hand I thought that the relation of SAFRAN - Airbus is rock solid. The question is what is the real influence of SAFRAN in CFM ?
Would be GE able to operate alone ? Probably YES Would be SAFRAN able to operate alone ? I am not so sure.

What is rock-solid is the Snecma/GE alliance in narrowbody jet engines. Both partners have been working closely together and CFF has been a fantastic success story. There is not the smallest chance that it might break-up.
Airbus has always suspected CFM of favouring the 737 over the A320 family because a 737 sale is a CFM sale, whereas an A320 sale starts a competition between engine manufacturers. Airbus however has taken advantage of the reliability of the CFM company commitments and that of their engines.
The bottom line is : nobody will risk to break what is working so well.
As regards narrowbodies, all manufacturers are getting ready to have a competitive offering meeting next-generation requirements (RR's Ultrafan is designed to allow them to come back into that market). I believe the market is large enough for three manufacturers.
As regards widebodies, the cards have been dealt for a while ... until P&W comes up with a credible offering and a new project emerges.

There is not the smallest chance that it might break-up. Their partnership has been extended and runs through to 2040. One thing GE risks by not improving their relationship with Airbus is to risk falling behind (again) in market share, this time in the narrowbody sector. They ought to know this well by now, with how they missed the boat on the A350.

I see there was an un disclosed MOU for A320s,My guess is its 50/50 to be CAL's (China Airlines, Taiwan)order and probably dont want to announce until after the show because they have a B777 on display. Would'nt look very good to announce that while Boeing is showing off their latest product and it would be the first time they bought an airbus A320 so it would'nt look good for boeing.
Here is from Wiki and I remember reading elsewhere. Regarding the narrow-body fleet, in January 2015, the airline's president Sun Hung-Hsiang announced that the airline is planning on ordering 50 narrow-body aircraft for itself and its subsidiaries Mandarin Airlines and Tigerair Taiwan. Types in consideration includes the Boeing 737MAX and Airbus A320neo.[29
