Interesting to track the parts of A320 going to Mobile (AL) assembly factory.
As I am writing, one of the 3 Airbus ships (CIUDAD DE CADIZ) is 1/3 way from Montoire (France) to Mobile. These ships, very much like our Beluga and Beluga XL are Roll-on / Roll-off.
To follow the ships (the other 2 are VILLE DE BORDEAUX and CITY OF HAMBURG), I go to www.marinetraffic.com, and enter the name of the ship in the search box (top right of screen).
The sailing ships helping the flying ship: I love that.

Sounds like that is the direction any new assmebly line will take. Interesting to find out if they use the A380 assembly halls and convert the existing buildings one at a time...over probably the course of 4-5 years...

As stated in the Bloomberg story, the newest A320 FAL in Hamburg is already using A380 space. Expect all A380 facilities to be quickly converted to other models after end of production.

Tomorrow, may 29, Lufthansa's oldest A320, D-AIPA, MSN69 will fly for the last time with passengers: FRA-BRU-FRA. Delivered in October 1989. Today there was a farewell flight FRA-HAM-XFW-FRA.
