I'm worried about its safty margin.. What do you mean? Just a guess, firstly, wingtip clearance is lower making it easier to damage by either ground vehicles or roll movements during take off and landing. Secondly, i believe the larger the winglet, the lower the aircraft's crosswind limit as they act as small vertical stabilisers.

BUT most important, I don't like how it looks It just seems a bit anachronistic to see it on an airframe design that has been around since the '60s.
