Airbus is still in a transition phase. Next year we should see some 77 A330s, 80 A350s and 20 A380s delivered. I am not sure about the number of A330. Though Airbus is officially building them at a rate of 7 per month eleven months per year, the shrinking -ceo backlog and possibly slower-than-planned transition to the -neo may suggest a slightly lower level of production.

This year there are some reasons outside of Airbus control, hitting all three wide body programs. The various supply chain issues you mention compounded the issue, but did not create it. I think the main reason for Airbus' lopsided delivery timeline this year is that the manufacturer has been ramping up both A350 and A330 production, thus creating a context leading to a predictable concentration of deliveries near year-end.

It will be not a record year:-( Not a record year for widebody production, but a milestone for narrowbody deliveries (> 500), which is not a topic for this thread.

There was a ramp down on the A330. That was last year, when Airbus ramped down to six per month. In 2016 Airbus ramped up back to seven per month as a consequence of additional Chinese A330ceo orders.

Airbus is to increase production to 7 per month because they booked more CEO orders than expected. There was a ramp down on the A330. That was last year, when Airbus ramped down to six per month. Next year the rate will be increased to 7 per month.

The ramp down has definitely been this year. Geoff

In 2016 Airbus ramped up back to seven per month as a cpnsequence of additional Chinese A330ceo orders. Last year was still full production, 103 A330 delivered. This year the production will not reach 6 frames a month. They would have to deliver 9 more frames this year for a delivery rate of 6 frames a month. Ramp up to 7 frames a month is planed for next year, you have first to start ramp up in the pre FAL.
