The (monthly) production rate (x 11) and the number of deliveries per year do not match, since rate changes usually do not occur on January 1st, while aircraft production usually spans two calendar years. Rate changes happen long before we see an increase or decrease in deliveries. 2016 deliveries result from the 2015 production rate, whereas Airbus is already ramping up A330 production.

What we see is the rate change in the FAL and in deliveries. And in no way there has been a rate increase in the FAL this year regarding the A330. There were this year standing around quite a few undelivered frames, especially the big batch of Saudia regional A330, that were delivered in the last weeks. Perhaps there is an increase in the pre FAL production, but that has not reached TLS and that is what we are talking about.

I guess these are the best case deliveries for December and 2016. A330: 13 --> 66 A350: 15 --> 49 A380: 7 --> 28 AB WB: 35 --> 143 It will be not a record year:-( Well as the record is 144 surely Airbus can manage one more !! Geoff My calculation is the best case, meaning all frames roll out in full color and having at least the 1st flight. So there is no frame for #144.

Will be some time before we get the official figures but it looks as though Airbus has delivered 142 widebodies in 2016 , as against the record of 144 in 2015. The big push in December saw 34 widebody deliveries. Even with a reduced number of A380s, 2017 should be a record year as A350 numbers rise and the A330 production stabilises or rises slightly.
Geoff
Boeing managed 27 widebody deliveries in December for an annual total of 258, behind last year's record of 267. The 777 with 99 and the 787 with 137 both had their best ever year.

And Airbus numbers now included with the Iran Air orders included giving a net total of 124 widebody sales for 2016. 83 A330s and 41 A350s. The A380 with net zero had 50% of the passenger VLA market ! Geoff

Thanks for the update ghornJust one small thing: It seems like you should re-sort your last table regarding unfilled orders if you want to have it in decending order, as there has been some movement on the list
