As usual, a lot of information leaks out in the last few days before a major airshow. The more we learn about the A330 NEO, the more likely it is to be launched (or at least announced or pre-launched) at Farnborough.

Winglets look a bit too fat in my opinion. Key points(most of which has already been leaked in rumors in the past week) ; - Will consist of the A330-800neo and A330-900neo
- Fuel Consumption is resumed by 14% per passenger
- increase in range of 400nm
- Deliveries will start in Q4 2017
- Powered by Rolls Royce Trent 7000 engines
- It will feature improvements such as A350 inspired winglets, increased wingspan, new plyons, 4th generation IFE, mood lighting and connectivity.

Was there any doubt ? NO !
I just wonder how many pieces sold will be announced during the show. I would not be surprised if it would sum up in hundreds.

- 68 000-72 000 Lbs of thrust
- Compared to the Trent 700, the Trent 7000 will have Specific Fuel Consumption reduced by 10%, twice the bypass ratio and half the perceived noise
- First engine run expected in 2015 with certification in 2017

Although Airbus is calling the new models 'neo' they seem to be direct replacements for the A330-200 and A330-300, so in practice the new engines will not be an option. Will be interesting to see how many A330s Airbus will be able to deliver in the 2017-2019 period.
