All these are A330s operators already, which airlines would be interested that aren't A330 operators yet?....

Seriously, if Airbus can keep the price reasonable compared to the current A330, we might see airlines ordering (a few) to start up long haul. I'm thinking LCC's here that are willing to have a go at that, considdering the promised economics of the NEO.

I have the sense that Airbus have been 'forced' into the A330neo. They have a great record of continuous improvement with the A330 which is being delivered at record levels and still selling. I think Airbus would have preferred to sick with their announced enhancements. Hopefully the neo will add a lot of sales rather than just kill off the 'ceo'.

Which airlines are currently A330 operators but do not have 787s or A350s on order? I have a feeling that they might be very good candidates for the A330neo. A very compelling solution for such airlines who want a more fuel efficient aircraft while avoiding the costs of introducing a brand new type to their fleet.

It's quite simple : the A330 NEO will be launched if, and only if, Airbus is satisfied with the number of additional orders they have collected. That could be the reason why there may be no announcement in Farnborough.

Thank you addasih, I was indeed away for more than two weeks, as could be expected in summertime. I managed to be back before Farnborough, but I have other planned trips !
