The certificate reads ETOPS 180 in the first stage. Probably for a year as has been stated in this topicBut this is not yet confirmed |

Airbus has posted a video to acknowledge the A350 certification on their YouTube account.
The video is a patchwork of images taken from a lot of test subjects + interview of Fernando Alonso at the end who explains how Airbus manged to complete certification within schedule...etc...

Interesting about the weight problem, this seems endemic for new planes...... JT This has been known for a long time. 'Block 2' aircraft are overweight, though they meet Airbus' guarantees to customers. The extra weight is the main reason for the upcoming 'block 3' (MSNs > 17, or according to rumours MSNs > 21) which will have new features, including a new and lighter cabin, and should meet target weight. Block 3 will require an amendment to the certification. I think most of the flights we are seeing now are block 3-related. |
