Still the new NB will not be for sure certified before 2030 I wouldn't be so sure. Some people expect Boeing to launch a new NB (with 757-like variant first) as early as this decade. It could fly by 2025-2027.

That was speculated many times before even in this thread, but most think it unprobable. Of course it would be possible.l We will see in due time, but I am sure that than nobody will remember this anymore

It could fly by 2025-2027. 1 - I think Boeing's MAX customers would be very angry if Boeing launched a clean-sheet narrowbody right after they received MAXes, which could be seriously depreciated. 2 - Would such an early timeline allow the new aircraft to have much better engines than the MAX ?

Well, I'm playing a little bit of devil's advocate here, cause personally I don't believe in new NB launch this decade Ad 1. If a 757-like frame is launched first than existing costumers don't have reason to be angry. Ad 2. That's the main question. I can't imagine an early launch with CFM/GE - they are just to busy right now. And I can't imagine new Boeing NB without CFM Still, those rumors 'bout early launch must have surfaced for a reason.
