That's major information. As the article is behind a paywall, I wonder whether the project is still to open a completion center in China (as previously discussed), or to create a new assembly line ...

Some places writes about an outfitting center in China, and not an actual production line?

I don't think Airbus can have an additional A330 FAL ready by 2016.

We'll probably have to wait for official information to understand industrial implications.
It could be an outfitting center (as previously mentioned), a new FAL (as pointed out by XWB, the timeline does not support that) or something in-between (either an outfitting center officially dubbed "FAL" or an "improved outfitting center" performing a little more work than outfitting proper).

Makes sense - they make FF from TLS and than transfer to China and outfitting there - similar to TLS - XFW with A380 - it makes sense, and is in the timeframe doable

It may make sense but the current arrangement of building 380's in TLS and outfitting in XFW hasn't exactly been ideal. China is a bloody long away if there are any problems, especially if there has to be several transfer flights in each direction. The Chinese have a reputation for getting things done double quick so who knows. It does all look a bit unattainable though.

We can only speculate at this point. I don't think Airbus will move the FAL to China. They need to assemble, test and certify the NEO in France. Besides, the Beluga's don't have enough range to reach TJN. Moving the FAL to China would require a major change in the supply chain. Airbus could duplicate a FAL in China, but that's weird for only 180 to 200 A330s. I think it will be an outfit hangar. It would not be the first time that the media chose the wrong words.
