It may make sense but the current arrangement of building 380's in TLS and outfitting in XFW hasn't exactly been ideal. It has been the time comsumption and complexity that has been the issue with A380 outfitting, not that it has been outfitted in XFW. For those A320 made in TLS, they are as well transfered to XFW for outfitting, and I would claim the A320 production is rather efficient

Is it known how long the A330 outfitting takes ?
We know how long it takes to A380 but this one should be shorter.

The ATW article has been corrected. "[ CORRECTED] Airbus is conducting a feasibility study for an A330-300 completion and delivery center (cabin equipping and aircraft painting) in China, a source at the company told ATW sister publication ..." atwonline.com/manufacturers/airbus-supply-a330-regionals-chinaThe story is changed on two key points : - they now say that no decision has been made, as Airbus is still conducting a feasibility study ; - it's not about a FAL, just an outfitting and painting center (as we had concluded). So, there is nothing new, all this has been known for months.

engine runs and aircraft delivery This caught my attention. Does that mean the customer engines will be installed and run for the first time in China, while a set of Airbus's own stock engines will be used to fly it there?

'Engine run' is not the same as 'first engine run'.
As regards orders, an agreement on the number may be holding the whole project.

'Engine run' is not the same as 'first engine run'. But why would they be talking about "engine runs" any more than say pressurisation tests, when they have already deemed the aircraft fit to fly the long journey to China? I still think that the first engine run is the most significant to be talked about.

The press release does not mention anything about new orders or a timeline for the completion of the outfitting centre. I assume that it will be dependent on some major orders feom China before they will actually start this

I think it means the 'first' engine run after cabin outfitting and the general tests for the engines before delivery to customers.
