That would be a little earlier than we expected. I had rather call these aircraft "China-completed" rather than "China assembled", though.

From what I can see, Airbus might have burned their fingers opening the A320 assembly plant in China. The C919 has come in sooner than what they would have expected but more importantly, I don't see any major shift in the order numbers as China continues to buy more or less equitably from both Airbus and Boeing. The A330 completion centre was needed to secure enough orders to carry the production through till the neo comes online but there was no reason to go any further as pointed out by FB. I see this facility is as good as any other MRO/paint/outfitting service centres in China so not much in terms of new widebody production expertise is transferred. Quite surprised at how very minuscule the order numbers are for the A350 in China (mainland) compared to the Boeing rival. Only 10 firm from Air China and a doubtful 15 from Hong Kong Airlines (Hainan subsidiary).

Only 10 firm from Air China and a doubtful 15 from Hong Kong Airlines (Hainan subsidiary). You are forgetting China Airlines with 14 on firm order. And more A350s to follow, China Eastern is rumored to order 20 A350s this month.
