I do believe that the Ba A380 Jnb rotation now operates 6 days a week in each direction You can confirm that by trying to book a flight via BAs Website (exception is Tuesday). That said, they definitely need the sixth frame to start the second daily flight to LAX. As shown in this post (though the exact times have slightly varied since then), they can operate LHR-LAX (twice daily) and LHR-HKG with just four frames. But with only a fifth frame available, they could do LHR-JNB only every other day because with both legs being performed during the night, the service to JNB can't be done daily with just one aircraft (the return to LHR is about 36 hrs after departure). I would hedge a bet that 151 will be delivered in time to start the double daily rotation to LA. Was this frame outfitted so quickly at XFW because the interiors of BA A380's are straightforward and not as complex as others?

What can also happen sometimes is that an airline under-operate its frames and adding some additional frequencies a few days before a new frame delivered would still be okay... Though in that case apparently with 5 frames, BA operates one daily flight to HKG, one daily flight to LAX and one flight to JNB thrice a week, (a380flights.net) I think then indeed BA would actually need MSN151 to operate a second daily flight to LAX?...
