Ok It is time I came clean and owned up to buying MSN2. Great finance deal and only one previous owner. I plan to use it as just like my 'Winnebago'. Loads of room for those long Summer vacations.

I have seen before of BAsource and EKsource that they don't seem to know the difference between acceptance and delivery. Or said made a first flight, which happened to have been weeks or even months earlier. Delivery of 151 was scheduled for next week. 149 also sat idle about a week since her CAF and before delivery. If 151 is scheduled for delivery next week then that's when it will happen. It is just good to know Airbus are getting the frame delivered in time for the ramp up of A380 services BA have planned . Time for an unrelated(sorry) cheap dig at current late 787 BA deliveries .

A bit strange the entry in BA source. Normally these announcements on that site are accompanied with the positioning flight details. I guess it means she has been accepted and just not delivered yet.

Just to give you an example. Ba are currently waiting on the delivery of a 13 year old A320. There is plenty of demand out there in the second hand market.

There's plenty of quality Airlines who would be interested in 12 year old frames and indeed the juggernaut will still be a relative baby as far as her full life potential is concerned. It all adds depth to the A380 market and will help push developing the product further. The future is beginning to look a little bit brighter for the 380 especially as a new engine is in the offing which can only help in the looming battle with the new 777.

The only question is if the 787 is going to be 3-3-3 or 2-4-2. If it is the letter you would be happy. IT is not the question of AB/BO but the seats. I hate to take sides but I am European so I'm always going to be biased. Airbus are scared of Boeing's seat configurations, hence the recent Airbus minimum long haul seat width campaign(A bit Disney like in reality). Alas, I don't know the configurations of VA's 789's but I'm sure if I wasn't quite so lazy I could find out. I guess Virgin economy is always going to be 3-3-3. Premium economy 2-4-2.

I used to do a fair bit of Transatlantic flights on VS some years ago. It was quite a pleasant airline to fly on, and I actually go out of my way to book with them. This was when their A340-600s were brand new and featured the "4 engines 4 long haul" writing on the engines. It certainly added to the experience, the comfort and quiet. I'm not sure the 9 abreast 787s will bring the same kind of appeal the A340s did to me. I really hope VS sticks to the A380 order and provides its customers a unique experience that will make them want to fly with them for reasons other than just the price. You are so right about the comfort of the A340. Virgin should order A350s to replace them then and not 787s(not dissing the 787 it's a great machine)! I think I'm being a tad unfair in stating that Virgin are getting rid of their 340's in favour of the 787. I do believe the prime intention is to use the machine to open up new routes. I love Airbus but for some reason have a love hate relationship with the A340.

I think this order will be cancelled. The fat lady is clearing her throat. Alas, I think you might be right about them cancelling.
