As a Pole I'm completely neutral and yet I can only confirm: BA livery works so well on the 380! As a neutral Canadian - or maybe slightly biased due to our British heritage, and yes Her Majesty the Queen of Canada - I too would like to say that the BA A380 is my top favourite livery. But tied for first place with BA would also be the gorgeous KE livery! QR and TG round off my list of top A380 liveries. Then I have what I call simple but nice liveries - EK, QF, AF, LH, OZ - while MH and CZ fall into my group of least liked. I have not decided where to put EY, but their old livery would have made it to the top group. As a Canadian you have French and British heritage. You have the best of both Worlds! In fact being from Canada you also have your own rich aviation heritage. Arguably equal to Europe and the US! You have it all sir. I'm so jealous

Pure aircraft porn! I am a very biased Brit, but the BA livery works so well on the 380!

And then probably a last tiny CAF... Don't know if MSN163 is in a rush, BAW's only need it by the end of this month (increase services to LA and IAD and open the route to SIN).. With BA's love of training flights, I'm sure they could fill up any spare time before service ramp ups.

That is because the BA A380's lack interesting features like the Business Bar, Showers and even the exterior cameras. I am not a fan of Emirates Bling but the BA frames have to be the most boring available. A missed opportunity which I think will them cost passengers in the future as Emirates and Quatar take over the world....... JT (PS Disclaimer, I only flew on GLEA economy LHR/Frankfurt and return in Club and have not been in any other A380) Lack of interesting features or guilty of lacking unnecessary gimmicks? The BA interior is deliberately understated and elegant. 99% occupancy rate on its twice daily LA service. Not bad for an uninteresting cabin.

Dramatic Drum roll. You will all shoot me down, and I guess I'm used to that now(much due to my technical and production ignorance), but the truth is my beloved A380 just hasn't set the aviation World alight. One day, I hope, it will find it's rightful place at the pinnacle of aviation innovation and history, but compared to the 747,777(x included), 787, and 350 she just isn't selling. Times have changed and the graceful queen of the skies is failing to find her niche. I hoped that limited slot availability, as at Heathrow, would make her more of an option for busy hubs, but even BA are struggling to find a financial reason to buy more than 12 of the beasts. It is a paradox. Every one loves the machine, but sales haven't matched it's potential. Emirates are the sole saviour of the 380, and even then it hurts my soul that they have placed such a large 779 order.

Hi All Maybe I am wrong, but should we use this thread only for rumors or information about "NEW CUSTOMERS" and not for some speculation from the NY Times or other newspapers? Maybe we can open another thread for this kind of stuff. Speculating about the 380 is just about everywhere on this forum in one guise or another.

You never know. Delta took a bit of a risk by their standards when they ordered 18 787's, but even then their inbred fear of buying shiny new models eventually kicked in when they deferred deliveries until 2020. Maybe, as indeed they have hinted at, the economies of the latest models will force them to reconsider their ultra conservatism. The 380 is now hopefully a mature enough machine to tempt them. Half of their ageing 747's are over 24 years old and will need replacing at some point. I don't think they can afford to wait for second hand 380's to come on to the market. I hope the industry wide fear(especially the US) of 4 engine wide bodies doesn't put them off. The odds are against them doing it though. Delta didn't order the B787, they were ordered by Northwest originally and deferred by Delta. Thanks for the information. You are right and as usual I should have known better and done a bit more research. The great thing about this site is the depth of knowledge from members. I forgot Northwest ever existed which is a bit strange because the first transatlantic flight I ever made was on a Northwest 747 from LGW to BOS some 25 years ago or so.
