I did not remember the whole order had already been firmed. So, did anything new happen ? Even the wording in the 2016 article seems to have been almost copied-and-pasted from the 2010 press release.
2010 : "We are extremely pleased that Hong Kong Airlines again places its confidence in our products to expand its widebody fleet," said John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer Customers. "With the A330, the carrier will be operating the most cost-efficient and versatile widebody aircraft, both now and in the future."
2016 : "We are extremely pleased that Hong Kong Airlines has placed its confidence in our products to build its long range fleet," said John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer Customers. "With the A330 and the A350 XWB, the carrier will be operating the cleanest, most efficient aircraft available in the mid-size widebody market, both now and in the future."
EDIT : was there a not-yet-firmed MoU for additional A330 which could have been recently firmed (Airbus does say HK airlines firmed an order for 9 A330) ? Or was it undisclosed ?

Meanwhile more production slots have been allocated: MSN 124, 153, 168, 234, 240, 250 and 254. I did not remember the whole order had already been firmed. So, did anything new happen ? Even the wording in the 2016 article seems to have been almost copied-and-pasted from the 2010 press release. Indeed there is no corresponding firm order for Hong Kong Airlines, yet they are getting at least 7 A350-900 aircraft.
