So, following P&W's guidance, customers have accepted operational restrictions, just to learn now that they were unnecessary ... I don't know what they think of that !

If I had ordered P&W engines for my A320neos then I would be pressing very hard for a penalty-free change to LEAP with some compensation thrown in. What a mess.

Well be reasonable.... P&W is not a newcomer - they are around JET engines since the invention of the thing They did come with a revolutionary design and well it is not yet trouble free but I DO BELIEVE that eventually will be. Concerning consumption the engine is performing better than promised and better than LEAP So I am optimistic here and do believe all the teething problems will go away - it might take a few month - maybe a year but will be off ! Up to that they still can come with significant improvement i.e. the core sort of like the LEAP has and another few percent is on the horizon.

it seems the only Carrier not having issue is Lufthansa. it does seem like the airlines that will benefit from a trouble free GTF are the ones that take delivery in 2019.. that kinda sucks. QR must be feeling pretty satisfied with the order cancellation...what a monumental headache for P&W and the Asian carriers...

If you were a P&W customer, you would do what all other customers do : stick to your choice, and negociate adequate compensation. Not a single P&W customer has cancelled its order ! Even QR has been talking of cancelling, yet so far not acting accordingly. What is more, most customers which had not selected an engine keep sitting on the fence ...

Up to that there are no LEAP engines available maybe first free ones after 2021 or so. As a matter of fact there are even no P&W engines readily available, so.....
